We have all been so excited about this Hop and now we can show you are Holiday projects.
Now for my first project. I created a Center piece just perfect for that Thanksgiving dinner next week.
I used Creative Kuts file Flower Designs Collection 1. The file includes 6 different flowers and leaves for all of them in this collection. You can find tutorials on Creative Kuts Blog and here on mine as well on how to create your own flowers. The Glass vase I purchased at Michaels and as you can see I made various flowers in fall colors and sizes with leaves. I used the hot glue gun to adhere to the glass. I added a few fall berries for filler among the flowers and then added nuts and pine cones the base.

Here are a few close ups of some of the roses.

For my second project I made a Christmas wreath center piece.

I used the Poinsettia Flower. It can also be hung on the wall in a small area as well, very versatile.

I used Gingham wire ribbon and tied it all around the wreath. In doing this it adds some extra color and will increase the size of your project. I added white berries to give a little more contrast.

In this picture I have displayed with a normal tall,wide pillar candle.

In this next picture I have taken a vase and filled it with the gem pebbles you can get at any craft store ( I got mine from Wal-Mart lol) and used three tapered candles and made them different heights just by bury them at different depths in the gems.

This third picture I have hung it on the Wall for an additional enhancement to the Christmas decor.

SO FOR MY DAY 2 PROJECT!!

This is a simple little trinket box I picked up at Michaels for 1.50. I brought it home and painted it black and just put little orange dots on the edges using the tip of the paint brush. I then embellished the top of the little box with the flowers that I made using the cut file

We have created tutorials on how to create this flower and 5 others on Youtube! Look to the right of my blog and on Creative Kuts blog and you will find a link to the tutorials!

Here is the completed little box!

This is front of the little box. You can't see in the picture (because I painted it) but it has a elastic cord that holds the box closed.

Here is the little box with a dime on it to show you how small the flowers can be made and still look GREAT!!

Here is a larger flower. This flower was too large to add to the little box, but again wanted show you the different sizes you can make with the cut file!

Now for my Day 1 project

I used several file cuts for this project.

The haunted house is from the "Halloween Theme"

The cute little witch and the cauldron and the title are from "Trouble Brewing" The ghost and the moon and witch silloute are from the Cut file "Beware" the Broom and the witches shoes are from the one of the "Halloween Candy Wrappers"

I used paper from SEI - Eerie Alley Paper Collection. The Border is punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. Hard to tell from this pic but the fence is popped up and there is LOTS of inking going on.

Ok, there were several people that wanted tutorials of my flowers.... well you will be happy to know they are coming soon. I am using Cut files from Creative Kuts and creating the flowers and giving tutorials on them. There are some really adorable flowers in this first group and more to come. There will be a sunflower, a magnolia, carnation, two different types of roses and a lily. Here are pictures of the flowers I made. Make sure you dont miss the grand opening.... Should be happening in the next few days. Happy crafting all.....

OH!!!! I wanted to add a LayOut I did for a customer. It is so cute and I used cut files from Creative Kuts.

I know it has been forever since I have posted anything here.... I have been busy trying my hand at the Digi side of scrapping. Digital or Traditional Scrapping... That is the question

What is your favorite to do Traditional or Digital? I like a little of both worlds. I started scrap booking with Digital, my grandson's first year is digital. It was easy for me to do and there was no mess and I could make copies for everyone that wanted one.!! Then for my cousin Sharon, you know the best friend that I scraped about in one of my earlier blog post. Well, SHE is the one I blame for waking up the Traditional Scrap booking monster in me lol. I went from a little computer on a table to half of the den for my scrap area (secrestly working on the whole room). Thank you Lord for understanding men willing to share their area with us women. lol I have it every where ask Russell he will tell you... that wasn't the deal.... lol. But you just cannot help it. You just cannot container that wild supply, paper hungry, gadget wanting monster. I know you are laughing now but you know exactly what I'm talking about don't you? Its OK, you can tell me, he doesn't have my blog address. Let it out, confess your addiction to the paper and inks and the latest cutting machines. I know, I can relate... I'm there girl. Sigh.... sorry got onto a rabbit trail. What I was getting at is I love to do both and have recently did a few Digital LO's for some friends and I wanted to share them with you. My next venture is creating my own elements. So, if any of you create your own digi elements please feel free to give me a few pointerspointers lol..... here are my latest digi's thank for stoping by and checking out my "stuff". Now for the the fun.... I, like you, have TONS of scraps. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but my Scraps are not organized at all. I have a box full and three drawers.

I could probably make cards until the cows come home and still have some left.

I made a very simple card. All the papers were from my scrap drawers. but what I want to draw your attention to is the small dainty roses I made from.... thats right.... Scraps.

I can make a whole garden of roses with all my scraps.

It is made from a small flower punch that is as small as a dime.

So now you are going to think twice about throwing away the smallest of scraps lol.

Each Rose is 4 punches. I think it took longer to make the three tiny roses than it did the card itself lol. but i love them. I think it just makes the card.

School's out for Summer

Welcome to the School's out for Summer Blog Hop.
I want to first thank Jessica and Nancy for allowing me to be a part of this Hop.

If you are coming from Jess then you are on the right Track and making your last stop here. If you just happened by and want to start at the beginning of the Hop please start with Jessica .

Now for my project for this Hop. I made a Paper Bag Mini Album titled Summer Fun.
it consist of 10 pages plus the front and back. It has 3 big pockets to add fun things like the ticket stubs to the Zoo or more picture. All three of these pockets have a pull out to journal on or again add more pictures. It has two small pockets on the inside as well. All the embellishments are hand made. I really loved making this little book. I kept thinking about that first day of school when the teacher asked us to write about our summer vacation and viola' the pages were born lol. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. I would so love to read your comments on what you think of this little mini album. It is also for Sale just email me for info. Thanks and here it is.

The book is made with a #10 Paper Bag. It is larger than a normal lunch sack and measures approx. 6 1/2 x 6

Used again, "A Childs Year"
This page has a small pocket - the green check you see is the pull out.

- Page 3 -
The ice cream cones and ice cream are a free hand cut.
I popped the cones with pop dots.

- Page 4 -
The Popsicle's were a rectangle and I used a corner Punch to round the edges and then did a free hand center dip
(pop dots used here also)

- Page 5 -
The clouds are cut from Create a Critter and I used my gypsy to change the shape by stretching it some.

- Page 6 -
The Sun and the Clouds are cut from Create a Critter and I just changed the size of the clouds to give a variety to it.
The Sun I just added Google Eyes to it to give it a little more character.
Clouds have been raised with pop dots.

The cute little whale is from Create a Critter.
I just love that cartridge.

The little boy is from , "A Childs Year "
The Flip Flops are a punch by EK

Paper Bag Mini Album

Just wanted to post the pics of my Paper Bag Mini Album I finished. I think it came out beautiful but then I'm a little prejudice. Go figure lol. I don't know why I picked the colors I did, but it all worked out so wonderful. I think it is classy yet a tad whimsical in spots. Black, Red and White always look so nice together. Well, here are the pictures of the album.

i have to give credit where credit is due.... my sweet Cousin, Sharon, was my "assistant/apprentice" on the mini album... she wanted to learn how to make one so i packed up and went to her house. After her helping me i told her she was my official assistant. Didn't know i needed one until then.... she was a great help to me. Thanks CUZ for EVERYTHING you do for me. (not just scrap'n)

The above page has a shallow pocket on it. The pull out is red with white polka dot. I added the black ribbon to use to pull the tag out.

Above pic is one of the pages that has a slide out and you can see I did it in red.

The below pic is the back side of the same page and the back of the insert.

Day 2 of the Beautiful Blooms and Tutorials

At this Time I dont have a new tutorial for you to view but I wanted to share some of the flowers I have made and repost a few cards that I used them on. I'm hoping to be able to add a new Tut before the end of the 2nd day so check back later. In any case I'm still giving away some blog candy so make sure you become a follower and leave a comment. Thanks again for joing the Hop. It has been a blast for me to be a part of it, a great FIRST experience for participating in a Hop and FIRST time to create a Tutorial. I hope that you were able to learn a few new techniques to enhance your flower making fun.

The orange Daisy is slightly different from the ones on the Cards. The flowers on the cards have a smaller size punch of the same flower for the middle and then I used some very small prima flowers for the center by clipping the little flowers and stacking several on top of each other as I did the daisy punch flowers. I inked the edges of the each petal AFTER I used a pencil or dowel rod to curl them up. Adding the ink always adds more demension to the flower I think. On the orange flowers or even yellow or red I would use a dark brown ink. I used black ink on the black and white flowers. I usually use color box inks. The small individual ones. They are easier for me to use and because inking edges of paper will wear on your ink pads. Then I have only invested a couple of dollars in an ink pad and gotten LOTS of inked edges from it before it falls apart on me lol. I hope you try it out and post on my Facebook page, "Linn's Scrap Shack", your results of all your flower making from the new things you have learned from the Hop.

The roses are my favorite to make but most time consuming. They look so real to me. I use Ivory card stock and then just ink the edges to get the color I want except for the red and dusty orange one they are all the same paper color.

Saturday update 4/9/11

Hi Everyone, It's Saturday Evening and I just got home a little while ago. I spent the day with my Mother and her running buddy Paula. I finished up those little birthday invites for my friend Erin. They turned out so cute I think. She loved them and so did her son. She told me he woke her up the next morning with one of the invitations in his little hand saying, "look mommy Woody". Then he went to his dad's side of the bed.... "look daddy, Woody".

Erin mentioned her daughter's 2ND birthday is in July and she is obsessed with monkey's right now. I think she said that she was, not her daughter. Anyway, my mind got to going and I came up with something. It needs tweaking but I think I have the general idea of what I want to do. I might make a few renditions of the basic card and then she can choose which one she wants to use. I will post them later once a get a few more samples made up.

I wanted to post a few cards that I made using my flowers.... here ya go.

Lazy Sunday 3/27/11

Its Sunday afternoon and my Grandson will be "crafting" with me for the next few days. We will be working on 50 Toy Story Party Invitations for a Client. We will post once we have finished them. I finished the 30 table arrangements we had to do for the 15 birthday party. Everyone seems to have liked them! "Thats a good thing", as Martha would say. If you missed the Birthday Sale I'm sure we will have another one soon. In the mean time I will be working on some new flowers for you. Hopefully something you can't live without!!! Spring is near!!!

Spring is fast approaching and everyone I’m sure is getting that spring fever. I know I am and I have been busy on some really pretty flowers. I can’t make them fast enough to fill the orders. Here are a few of the popular ones that have been selling .

Name your color. It is so pretty in any color you choose.

This was a one of a kind patterned paper and is sold FAST but again it can be done in any color you like.

And who dosen't like miniature roses. These beauties have just a little glimmer mist on them to give them that sheen and sparkle that most people like. These again ca be made in any color you choose.

This one has sold in many different colors and is similar to the cabbage rose.

And then you have to have your animal print!!! This is a zebra print that several people have requested.

There is the all popular scrunchie flower.

The Purple one is 3” big. It was a request from a customer for a bigger flower so …… She got it!!!

These are great for cards and scrapbook pages. They are flatter and it doesn’t hurt them to get “Squished”

In the Beginning

So let there be blogging. I want to FIRST thank my friend Sara Evans for getting my little blogging page going for me. She is the best thing since sliced bread!!! Glad we found each other, networking is a great thing. Trying to talk her into being my PR person and my computer guru. She is young and full of energyy and has the brains to go with it.
So the reason for the Blog??? I want to find and make new friends that share my love and enthusiasm for all things crafty. I want to share new ideas and techniques. I would like to also share and sell my crafty things with you if you are interested in them. I want to have fun!!! so lets get started?
